Lost Arts Festival 2010 - May 15-16
A weekend of sights, sounds and aromas of the 18th century awaits visitors to the Seven Eagles annual Lost Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday May 15 and 16, 2010 from 10 a-6 p Saturday and 10a-5p Sunday in Grand Rapids, Ohio. Traditional arts, crafts, music, entertainment, food, beverages, camp life, military demonstrations, and much more will be on hand. Seven Eagles Historical Education Center is located just one mile south of Grand Rapids, Ohio on Wapakoneta Road. The Lost Arts Festival is a celebration of history and pageantry from 1700-1850. It features music, arts, demonstrations and a chance to learn about the history of early Ohio and the frontier years of the Maumee River Valley. Costumed historical interpreters are available to guide visitors through the: Woodland Indian Longhouse & Village, Western Plains tipis, French Traders Sod Hut, Pioneer Log House, Scottish Tavern, 18th Century Trading Post and Blacksmith Shop. Traditional artists demonstrating skills that include: blacksmithing, basket weaving, lace making, woodcarving, gourd working, silversmithing, spinning, hide tanning, leather work, 18th century hat making and tinsmithing to name a few.
